Citizens Police Academy Range Day

The Blytheville Police Department Citizens Police Academy Range Day is an Extension of the Departments commitment to the Citizens Police Academy Program.The Citizens Police Academy Range Day consist of classroom course for those interested in learning about the safe handling and storage of firearms, local, state or federal laws, improving their shooting skills with the basic fundamentals of marksmanship, Firearms maintenance and Range Rules. Classroom participants will then have time on the firing range with police officers.

For those that are familiar with handling and safety of firearms will have to improve their skills on the firing range which will be open to the public.

Eligibility Requirements for classroom participants; Applicants must be 21 years of age or older,  Live or work within the City Limits of Blytheville AR, Be in good standing within the community, Have no history of Felony or Domestic Violence arrests or orders of protection and no serious misdemeanor arrests within the last 5 years.

For those who just want to go to the firing range, you must meet the same classroom requirements other than the work or residency requirements.  

All participants must provide their own firearm and ammo and have a valid ID and sign all waivers. The department will have eye and hearing protection available however Participants are encouraged to bring their own. 

Firearms are limited to handguns only unless time or participation allows otherwise as determined by the Blytheville Police Department Range Master.

Date: Saturday November 3rd 2018. The range will be open from 8-12 and 1-5. Class 1 is from 8-10 with range time from 10-12. Class 2 is from 1-3 with range time from 3-5. 

To attend a class you will need to fill out this online application or print/download a pdf fillable form here. Each class will be limited to 25 applicants.

To participate in the open range no application is needed, however be mindful that from 10-12 and 3-5 there will be up to 25 class members present.
