Domestic Assault and Battery occurs based on your relationship with the offender and whether you were threatened with injury or actually injured. It is important when you file your report to repeat the threatening words used and if you were injured describe the injuries such as bruises, cuts, scrapes and where, arm, black eye etc. If you can take photos of your injuries that can help document the abuse. Also remember to describe your relationship with the offender such as Husband, Wife, Boyfriend, Girlfriend, Father of my child etc. Also remember to include if the offender has been arrested or convicted of domestic violence in Arkansas or any other State.
