Finance Department

The Finance Department of the City of Blytheville has two employees who come under the supervision of the Finance Director, John Callens.

Duties

The Finance Director’s duties are outlined in City Ordinance 887, passed February 20, 1973. It states that the Finance Director is responsible for financial matters of the City and reports all fiscal matters to the Mayor and other staff. He/she is required to oversee the reconciliation of the all bank statements with the general ledger, prepare financial statements, recommend a spending schedule, and interpret city ordinances relating to financial affairs of the City.
